Yankel Gaum, (GAM), was born in Belarus in a Shtetl called Kozhan Horodok. He was married to Esther Sheindel El’Pinner who died in Belarus before Yankel immigrated to Sydney, Cape Breton. He was a KOHAN, and was very tall for his generation. He was affectionately referred to as the KOHAN GADOL the Big or tall Kohan, He died during World War in 1943.
He had 10 children, all living in Cape Breton.
